The 2022 Landscape Nerd Gift Guide
What does a Landscape Nerd need? And also, what kind of Landscape Nerd are you?
Hello fellow Landscape Nerds and Happy Holidays!
This year I wanted to put together a list of the perfect gifts for the Landscape Nerds in your life. The categories were inspired by the many unique nerds that I have met over the past few years in our profession. There is no particular order to the gifts- jump to the section you find most helpful.
I have made this list of 45 gift ideas for you or the landscape architect/designer/enthusiast in your life. Whether or not you participate in holiday gift giving, I hope this list gives you good ideas for how you can support and celebrate Landscape Nerds in your circle!
I do feature one (1) affiliate link through ARTEZA, but all other links are listed as inspiration. As a reminder-Reuse, recycle, shop charitably, shop small, and shop local whenever you can!
1. The Artsy Landscape Nerd
The artsy nerd can always use new inspiration and a new medium. In this section, I have listed ARTEZA items. I chose to affiliate with Arteza because this brand got me through grad school!
When I wanted to explore different ways to represent landscapes I had a non existent art supplies budget. ARTEZA offered a quality, budget-conscious option and helped me fall in love with watercolors and micro painting (but that is a story for another day!)
If you choose to shop ARTEZA with this link, I do earn a small commission with no additional cost to you. By using this link, you are also supporting the podcast. :)
2. The Techy Landscape Nerd
The tech-savvy landscape nerd needs to be comfortable for hours on end, have stylish-looking equipment, and the opportunity to share the very cool work that they do.
3. The Bookworm Landscape Nerd
The bookworm needs as many opportunities to learn as possible. Every story is an opportunity to gain new perspectives.
Headphones ( These are the one that I have used for years)
4. The Burnt-Out Landscape Nerd
We all know that this profession can quickly lead to burnout and that the road to recovery is long. Finding comforting items that are good for the mind, soul, and community can help!
5. The Gardening Landscape Nerd
Gardeners are busy all year round. Any of these gifts will let them know you’re thinking about them–and their garden–for many more seasons to come.
6. The Exploring Landscape Nerd
Sometimes, outside is the only place you want to be, and these gifts help explorers extend their time beyond the walls!
7. The Cooking/Baking Landscape Nerd
There is a very interesting intersection of baking/cooking and landscape architects. I feel like some people develop “procrasti-baking” in grad school, nonetheless, I’m grateful for many test bakes/dishes that made their way into the studio.
